Your images will be scanned at 2000dpi, which will capture far more detail and is suitable for making a full page print on an inkjet printer, especially if you need to crop or manipulate the image.
Our top level of service for the professional photographer. Images are scanned at 4000dpi for 35mm and 2400dpi for larger sizes. This equates to an A3 size scan from a 35mm original, and A2 size from a medium format original.
This is the standard size for camera film and mounted slides.
This encompasses all sizes between 35mm and 4˜ x 5˜ film.
Our largest size of film. This equates to approximately 101mm x 122mm
While we take care to remove dust from originals, there can sometimes be some residue which, although invisible to the naked eye, is picked up by our scanners. Minor scratches can be removed easily, but larger imperfections take longer to repair - see retouching. This is charged at $0.25 per scan for 35mm film and slides, and $1 per scan for larger formats.
Often a thin black border can appear on scans - this is normal, but we can remove this for you for $0.50 per scan.
We can manually improve your images. The services we offer are:
Colour correction
Red eye removal
Major scratch removal
A flat fee of $25 applies to each slide
JPEG files are compressed, meaning that their final file size is smaller than with TIFFs. The compromise is that some quality is lost in the compression process. This format is more compatible with PCs that do not have photo editing software installed.
TIFF files retain the full quality of the scan and are the choice of the professional. Larger TIFFs may require specialist image editing software to be opened an manipulated.
Our standard service - your originals and CD will be sent via USPS Delivery. The price for this is calculated on the approximate weight of your order.
